Guardians Of The Green: Crafting A Sustainable Future | A Conference With A Conscience
In an ever-evolving world, where environmental concerns are becoming increasingly pressing, the need for collective action and sustainable solutions has never been more paramount. It is in this spirit of collective action and a commitment to sustainable practices that “Guardians of the Green” was born—a conference that aimed not just to discuss sustainability but to embody it in every aspect.
On the 22nd of September, a pivotal gathering took place at the prestigious Shangri La, one of the world’s foremost luxury hotels. But this was no ordinary gathering. It was a convergence of minds, a symphony of ideas, and a celebration of sustainability—aptly called “Guardians of the Green.”

Conceived and curated by Mr. Rajesh Batra, the visionary founder of chhapai.com—a sustainable print and packaging brand—and the Sustainability Innovator Awards (SIA), GOTG transcended the boundaries of a traditional conference to become a powerful movement. The genesis of GOTG can be traced back to a profound moment of inspiration—a moment when Mr. Rajesh Batra witnessed the mounting environmental challenges facing our world and felt compelled to take action. “I wanted to create a platform that could inspire change and encourage individuals and organizations to embrace sustainable practices,” recalls Mr. Batra.
The conference earned its moniker as “a conference with a conscience,” reflecting its core ethos of promoting environmentally responsible practices, nurturing sustainable thinking, and inspiring positive change. It was an event that aimed to not only discuss the challenges posed by climate change but to present innovative solutions and forge a path towards a greener future.
GOTG was honored to welcome Mrs. Ratan Kaul, Senior Advisor to the GOTG community, as a special guest. Her insights and support enriched the conference experience. Additionally, Mr. Neeraj Mittra, the leader of the GOTG Delhi Chapter, played a pivotal role as a co-curator alongside Mr. Batra, contributing significantly to the event’s success.
Five panel discussions, each meticulously curated, formed the crux of the conference, tackling a diverse range of topics related to sustainability. These discussions brought together some of the brightest minds, innovators, and thought leaders who have been instrumental in driving sustainable practices across various sectors.

What made “Guardians of the Green” stand out was not just the remarkable panelists but the collective commitment to actionable change. These were not conversations for the sake of discussion; they were calls to action. Throughout the day, attendees were not passive spectators but active participants, each taking away not just knowledge but a renewed sense of responsibility.
This conference was not just an event; it was a movement—a movement towards a more sustainable, more conscious future. It was a gathering of individuals who understand that each action, no matter how small, has the potential to create ripples of change.
“Guardians of the Green” was a testament to the fact that sustainability is not a distant goal but a journey, and it is one that we must embark upon collectively. The discussions, insights, and ideas shared on that day were not the end but the beginning—an inspiring commencement of a journey towards a greener, more sustainable world.
